The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the law, according to which young people can only marry after reaching the age of eighteen. In society, such news was perceived ambiguously. Since the time of the Soviet Union, Ukraine had a law according to which girls could have entered into marriage from sixteen years old. This was logical, since in the Ukrainian villages, if the daughter did not enter the wedding rushnik by the age of nineteen, mothers showed great concern, and at twenty in the house of her parents there was already an old maiden. In cities, such a process took place later, and most young people were in no hurry to prepare the towels for a wedding, and after the country has become independent, there was a tendency to civil marriages, so the age for the conclusion of legitimately increased significantly. At the same time, according to statistics, the age of young people who enter into early sexual relations, on the contrary, decreases, the number of pregnancies and childbirths in minors is also growing. And many experts unanimously declare that the number of single mothers will now significantly increase. After all, even now, not all young families joyfully meet even the first anniversary of the wedding, and now marriage will be fraught with great difficulties. It was the problems of early sexual relations and the inability of pregnancy by young girls that became one of the factors that made Ukrainian lawmakers make such a decision. However, according to experts, the legislation here is powerless. Although it is stipulated in the document that, if necessary, they will be allowed to marry, but instead of preparing for the wedding ceremony and taking care of the ordering cake, the parents of young people will be forced to walk around the instances and listen to moralizing from officials. Many Ukrainian psychologists who deal with family problems argue that the problem of early ties cannot be solved by any legislative acts.
